IGP Olatunji Disu

Inspector-General of Police

Olatunji Rilwan Disu is the 23rd Inspector-General of Police of Nigeria. A career officer who joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1992, he has served across Ogun, Ondo, and Rivers states and at Force Headquarters, Abuja.

He is widely known for intelligence-led, community-oriented command. As Commander of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (2015–2021) he reshaped the unit around professionalism and public trust; he later led the Intelligence Response Team and served as Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory.

His record combines frontline operational experience with senior administrative leadership — a background that supports NSSF’s work to promote responsible marksmanship and lawful firearms use in Nigeria.
