Cookies Policy
Effective date: 5 August 2026
This policy explains how the NSSF Portal uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. The NSSF Portal also uses similar browser storage (such as session storage) for short-lived client state during payment and registration flows.
2. Cookies we use
We use essential cookies and session storage to operate the Portal securely. These include: • Authentication cookies — keep you signed in and protect your account (access and refresh tokens stored as HTTP-only cookies where applicable). • Session state cookies — record whether you have completed registration steps, membership payment onboarding, and your portal role for routing. • Staging gate cookie — on staging environments only, a cookie may be set after you enter the staging access password so reviewers can test before public launch. • Security cookies — support CSRF protection, session invalidation, and audit logging. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on the Portal.
3. Why we use them
Essential cookies are required to: • Authenticate members, staff, and officials. • Enforce role-based access (member dashboard, reviewer, approver, admin, and other portals). • Complete membership payment and licensing workflows safely. • Protect staging environments from unauthorised access when the staging gate is enabled. • Maintain session security, including automatic sign-out after inactivity.
4. Managing cookies
Because our cookies are essential to Portal operation, disabling them in your browser will prevent you from signing in or completing membership and licensing tasks. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings. Clearing authentication cookies will sign you out of the Portal. For more detail on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
5. Changes
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page.
