Terms of Service

Effective date: 17 July 2026

These Terms govern use of the NSSF Portal and related digital membership services. They incorporate the spirit and binding frameworks of the NSSF Constitution, including membership duties, safety, discipline, safeguarding, and anti-doping obligations.

1. Agreement to these Terms

By accessing or using the Nigeria Shooting Sport Federation ("NSSF", "the Federation") Portal, registering an account, completing membership, making payments, or using verification and licensing features, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Portal. These Terms operate alongside the NSSF Constitution, Bye-Laws, Code of Conduct, Safety Standards, and other lawful regulations of the Federation.

2. The Federation and the Portal

NSSF is the sole national governing body for shooting sport in Nigeria under its Constitution. The Portal is an official digital channel for membership registration, profile management, payments, certificates, licensing workflows, and public verification of certain credentials. Official language of the Federation is English. Portal content is provided in English.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your account credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Applicants must demonstrate good character and fitness to participate, and undertake to abide by the Constitution, Bye-Laws, Code of Conduct, and lawful regulations (Constitution Article 5.2). The Federation may refuse, suspend, or terminate membership or Portal access where eligibility criteria are not met, dues are unpaid, disciplinary sanctions apply, or access would be contrary to the interests or integrity of the sport.

4. Membership classes, clubs, and status

Membership categories ("classes"), fees, rights, and duties are defined by the Constitution and Federation regulations (including Article 5 and Schedule 1). Club affiliation, where applicable, must reflect your genuine primary club relationship. "Good standing" generally means dues are paid and no pending disciplinary sanctions apply. Certificates and letters issued through the Portal confirm status only as of the date of issue and subject to later change.

5. Payments

Membership and other fees may be paid through integrated gateways. You authorise us and our processors to charge the amounts displayed for the selected product or renewal. Successful payment does not by itself guarantee approval of every administrative step (for example identity verification, medical fitness, or licensing). Refunds, if any, are handled according to Federation finance regulations and applicable payment-provider rules.

6. Certificates, QR codes, and verification

Membership certificates and related documents may include a QR code or verification link. Verification tools confirm authenticity of Federation-issued records. You must not forge, alter, or misuse certificates, shooter IDs, or verification artefacts. Misuse may lead to disciplinary action under the Constitution.

7. Safety, firearms law, and conduct

All Federation activities must comply with the Firearms Act of Nigeria and applicable laws (Constitution Article 10). Conviction of a firearms offence may result in immediate suspension pending disciplinary process. You must follow Federation safety standards, range rules, and lawful directions. The Federation may suspend activities, decertify facilities, and impose sanctions for safety breaches.

8. Discipline, ethics, safeguarding, and anti-doping

Members must comply with disciplinary, ethics, and safeguarding frameworks (Constitution Article 11) and anti-doping rules aligned with WADA / NNADC / ISSF requirements (Article 12). The Federation may investigate and sanction misconduct, including suspension or expulsion, in accordance with its Schedules and procedures. Whistleblower protections apply as provided in Federation policy.

9. Acceptable use of the Portal

You agree not to: • Attempt unauthorised access to accounts, data, or systems. • Upload malware, scrape data unlawfully, or disrupt Portal availability. • Submit false identity, medical, or licensing information. • Use the Portal to harass others or violate safeguarding obligations. • Reverse engineer or misuse Federation emblems, seals, or marks without authorisation (Constitution Article 2).

10. Intellectual property

Federation symbols, emblem, seal, motto ("Discipline, Accuracy, Unity"), Portal software, and content are protected. Unauthorised use is prohibited. Member-uploaded content remains subject to licence for Federation administrative use as needed to provide services.

11. Privacy

Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Portal you acknowledge that processing necessary for membership, licensing, payments, safety, and safeguarding will occur.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Portal is provided on an "as available" basis. While we aim for accuracy and uptime, we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service. To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, the Federation is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from Portal use. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Changes, suspension, and termination

We may update these Terms, Portal features, or fees. Continued use after notice of material changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, the Constitution, unpaid dues, security risk, or legal requirement.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Internal Federation disputes may be subject to Constitution-prescribed procedures, including referral pathways involving recognised sports dispute bodies where applicable. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory rights under Nigerian law.
